We know that the fashion industry is damaging to the world but we want to be on the side that is propelling the industry to be less harmful and have made decisions that we believe make a difference.
1. We are trying to support as many American businesses in our supply chain. So:
Our pattern maker is located in IL and helped us bring our designs to life.
Our clothes are cut, sewn and assembled in NYC.
Our fabric is sourced from both American Wholesale Companies who import fabrics and from Fabric Mills right here in the US.
A lot of the textile industry has left the US making it difficult to source all our fabrics here and to acquire them at low minimum quantities. We will continue to source for the best domestic fabrics, but until we can find them supporting US Wholesalers was our next best move.
The elastic in our scrunchies is our only component that is sourced outside of the US and not through a US wholesaler. We chose to make this decision as the company we are working with makes the best eco friendly elastics on the market. The elastics are plastic free, use certified organic cotton, and natural rubber and no one could compare to them.
2. Our leggings and sports bras are constructed from recycled polyester fabric that's made from recycled water bottles.
3. Our t-shirts are constructed from organic cotton and lyocell fabric that is dyed using natural dyes in Pennsylvania.
4. Our mailers and garments bags are all made of post consumer recycled paper so they can be curbside recycled.
5. Our 'Thank You' cards are made of herb seed paper in Nebraska so they can be planted and used for your culinary needs instead of being extra trash!
6. We make quality clothing that lasts and produce them in small batches to avoid mass waste.
We know that being eco-friendly… or sustainable… or earth conscious is an ever bending and ongoing endeavor. We know that not every one of our decisions will be perfect nor will it save the planet in an instant but we believe that our conscious decisions will make a positive difference over time.
